As part of Ireland’s Cervical Cancer Elimination Action, it was recognised that an independent website, developed with strong public and patient involvement, would be valuable.
During the development of mycervicalscreening.ie, several focus groups were formed following open calls for participation, and a series of online workshops were facilitated.
Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) was central to shaping both the content and the design of the website. All PPI participants/organisations were paid for their contributions. mycervicalscreening.ie was funded by the Women’s Health Fund in the Department of Health.
